Post Week 6 NFL Conference Standings/Short Slants

NFC

Vikings (6-0 4-0 2-0) - Paul Allen: "Another Minneapolis Miracle".

Saints (5-0 3-0 0-0) - 48 points against the Giants? Incredible!

Giants (5-1 3-1 2-0) - How much did that game feel like practice?

Falcons (4-1 3-0 1-0) - A less impressive win than the previous week.

Bears (3-2 2-2 1-1) - Cutler really must stop throwing red zone INTs.
Eagles (3-2 2-1 0-0) - The Raiders? The Raiders? Kolb! Kolb! Kolb!
Cowboys (3-2 2-1 0-1) - A quiet bye week in Dallas could be good.
49ers (3-2 3-2 3-0) - Did Singletary even give the 49ers a bye week?
Packers (3-2 3-1 2-1) - So, wait. Are they running the 3-4 or the 4-3?
Cardinals (3-2 1-1 1-1) - That was last January's Cardinals vs. Seattle.

Panthers (2-3 2-3 1-1) - Even when they win, it feels like they lost.

Redskins (2-4 2-3 0-1) - Zorn needs to update his resume this week.
Seahawks (2-4 1-3 1-2) - Hasselbeck is deteriorating before our eyes.

Lions (1-5 1-4 0-3) - They're down to Drew Stanton at QB. Ouch!

Bucs (0-6 0-5 0-1) - They may be the best 0-6 team in football.
Rams (0-6 0-5 0-2) - They almost got that win...but didn't.

AFC

Broncos (6-0 5-0 2-0) - They're going to win the AFC West.

Colts (5-0 3-0 2-0) - As of right now, these are the AFC Champions.

Steelers (4-2 3-1 1-1) - The Steelers are kind of mediocre right now.
Bengals (4-2 3-2 3-0) - After a loss, they still look like a Wild Card.
Patriots (4-2 3-2 1-1) - Tom would've thrown 4 more TDs in the 2nd.

Jets (3-3 3-2 1-2) - That was the their most difficult loss this season.
Ravens (3-3 3-2 1-1) - Flacco is a future star. They're still in it.
Jaguars (3-3 2-1 2-1) - Had they lost to the Rams, well...uh-oh.
Texans (3-3 3-2 1-1) - I really think this is a playoff team.

Chargers (2-3 2-3 1-1) - A lot of talk, not walk, before Monday.
Dolphins (2-3 2-2 2-0) - Will we be seeing Pat White soon?

Raiders (2-4 1-3 1-2) - They should have more local blackouts.
Bills (2-4 1-3 1-2) - I don't think they're as bad as their record.

Browns (1-5 1-4 0-3) - Quinn trade rumors could get interesting.
Chiefs (1-5 0-2 0-1) - Getting a win has to be a relief.

Titans (0-6 0-6 0-3) - After 13-3, how is this team this bad?

Post Week 5 NFL Conference Standings/Short Slants

NFC

Vikings (5-0 4-0 2-0) - This Sunday's 'Birk Bowl' will tell us a lot.

Saints (4-0 2-0 0-0) - Are the Saints for real? Tune in on Sunday.

Falcons (3-1 2-0 1-0) - Matt Ryan is a quarterback prodigy.
Bears (3-1 2-1 1-1) - I hope they watched Falcons film during their bye.
Eagles (3-1 2-1 0-0) - McNabb nipped those "Kolb" chants in the bud.

Cowboys (3-2 2-1 0-1) - Austin's move was impressive. Dallas was not.
49ers (3-2 3-2 3-0) - The defense we saw against Atlanta was not theirs.

Packers (2-2 2-1 1-1) - Did their offensive line improved over their bye?
Cardinals (2-2 0-1 0-1) - If Houston had won, Arizona would be done.

Redskins (2-3 2-3 0-1) - Does anyone have any other coaches' numbers?
Seahawks (2-3 1-2 1-1) - Hasselbeck makes a huge difference in Seattle.

Panthers (1-3 1-3 0-1) - Boy, that was a big win against...Washington?

Lions (1-4 1-3 0-2) - They gave the Super Bowl champs a scare.

Bucs (0-5 0-4 0-0) - Turnin' back the clocks to 1979.
Rams (0-5 0-5 0-2) - This is the worst team in football right now.

AFC

Broncos (5-0 4-0 1-0) - No way. No way. Huh-uh. Can't be.
Colts (5-0 3-0 2-0) - Peyton's on a different plane right now.

Bengals (4-1 3-1 3-0) - No way. No way. Huh-uh. Can't be.

Jets (3-2 3-1 1-1) - Sanchez is inexperienced even for a rookie.
Steelers (3-2 2-1 0-1) - Just when Troy's returning, Smith falls.
Ravens (3-2 3-2 1-1) - Their secondary will be the death of them.
Patriots (3-2 2-2 1-1) - Are these really the Patriots?

Chargers (2-2 2-2 1-0) - They NEED to beat Denver on Monday.

Jaguars (2-3 2-1 2-1) - They've risen from the grave a little bit.
Dolphins (2-3 2-2 2-0) - Henne looked ok, but will need help.
Texans (2-3 2-2 1-1) - They almost completed a great comeback.

Raiders (1-4 1-3 1-2) - Al Davis. Nothing else needs to be said.
Browns (1-4 1-3 0-2) - A DOMINANT 6-3 win! A win's a win.
Bills (1-4 0-3 0-2) - That loss against Cleveland had to hurt.

Chiefs (0-5 0-2 0-1) - They've been close, but just can't get a win.
Titans (0-5 0-5 0-3) - The perfect illustration of parity in the NFL.

Post Week 4 NFL Conference Standings/Short Slants

After a bye week, I hope you enjoy the return of my Conference NFL Standings/Short Slants as much as I do.

NFC

Giants (4-0, 3-0, 2-0) - If Eli's out, will this team continue to dominate?
Vikings (4-0, 3-0, 2-0) - Brett will be 40 on Saturday, but his arm looks 27.
Saints (4-0, 2-0, 0-0) - If Brees and the defense both play well, look out!

49ers (3-1, 3-1, 3-0) - Your 2009 NFC West Champion 49ers.
Bears (3-1, 2-1, 1-1) - Cutler and Marinelli's defense are looking good.

Falcons (2-1, 1-0, 1-0) - We'll learn a lot about this team this Sunday.
Eagles (2-1, 1-1, 0-0) - If McNabb struggles, Eagles fans will call for Kolb.

Packers (2-2, 2-1, 1-1) - The next few weeks for Green Bay and are vital.
Cowboys (2-2, 2-1, 0-1) - Bad idea: Throw at Champ Bailey twice.
Redskins (2-2, 2-2, 0-1) - Is it just me or does this team feel 0-4, not 2-2?

Cardinals (1-2, 0-1, 0-1) - Not sure which team on which to comment.

Seahawks (1-2, 1-2, 1-1) - Even if Matt can go, this a battered squad.
Lions (1-3, 1-3, 0-2) - If Detroit gets a defense, they'll be a force.

Panthers (0-3, 0-3, 0-1) - Last December, I had them in the Super Bowl.

Bucs (0-4, 0-3, 0-0) - Well, let's usher in the Josh Free...er, Johnson era?
Rams (0-4, 0-4, 0-2) - Sam Bradford will look good in a Rams uniform.

AFC

Broncos (4-0, 3-0, 1-0) - I am utterly shocked by Denver's success.
Colts (4-0, 2-0, 1-0) - Peyton's Peyton, but how about those young WRs?

Jets (3-1, 1-0, 1-0) - What will Braylon bring? Drops or big plays? Both.
Ravens (3-1, 3-1, 1-0) - They're allowing a lot of points, but Flacco's good.
Bengals (3-1, 2-1, 2-0) - Will they, like Cincinnatus, return to anonymity?
Patriots (3-1, 2-1, 1-1) - I can't tell if they're a sleeping giant or not.

Jaguars (2-2, 2-1, 0-1) - I think Jacksonville might be coming around.
Steelers (2-2, 2-1, 0-1) - Will the real champions please stand up?
Chargers (2-2, 2-2, 1-0) - We're witnessing the closing of a big window.
Texans (2-2, 2-2, 1-1) - I'm starting to think this is a playoff team.

Dolphins (1-3, 1-2, 1-0) - With Pennington out, is it Thigpen or Henne?
Raiders (1-3, 1-3, 1-2) - They won one? Against whom? Kansas City? Oh.
Bills (1-3, 1-3, 0-2) - Soon, T.O.-ld Faithful will blow. Don't blink.

Chiefs (0-4, 0-2, 0-1) - After challenging the Ravens in Week 1, well...ow.
Browns (0-4, 0-3, 0-2) - They need to start over; maybe move to Balt...oh.
Titans (0-4, 0-4, 0-2) - Many arrogant players are taking a humility class.
